The derelict koan trilogy is a series of novels written and published by an Australian duo known collectively as derelict koan. The trilogy is a work of speculative fiction framed against a contemporary setting, exploring the interrelations between technology and imagination, raw courage and systems of faith. Artificial intelligence, neural interface technologies (complete with an exploration of their research methods) and the stories of Greek Mythology are employed as vehicles to explore the realms of memory, dream and identity.
The first of these books — Three — is available now. The remaining two books of the trilogy are under production and scheduled for release in Q1 and Q4 2012, respectively.
For those of you already reading, the HIV and HEROD sections offer a look into the history and current workings of the key structure at work in the world of derelict koan. For those of you not so far familiar with the books, the first four chapters of Three are offered free of charge for anyone to read and enjoy in the excerpts section. Happy browsing!
